Not sure if you are aware, but the National Park Service sells a lifetime "Senior Pass" for $10. If your mom qualifies, you get into all National Parks and such for free. Camping fees and stuff are still charged, but the entrance fees are free. My mom has one and we've used it to get in Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest and more. The "senior" doesn't have to be driving the vehicle, they just ask for the pass and photo ID upon entering. The pass can be purchased at the entry gate of the parks.
